Shoot Whole Scenes in One Take with Kling 4.0
Last verified: November 3, 2026
Kling 4.0 generates up to 30 seconds of video in a single generation, and emotion, action and camera movement unfold inside one coherent take . That means a whole scene, from the first beat to the last line, comes back as one continuous clip that's ready for the edit. It is a video model from Kling AI, Kuaishou's AI creative platform, and it focuses on visual realism, creative control and narrative coherence. Kling AI announced its global launch on October 16, 2026 .
Its strengths show up in the details that usually force a reshoot. Lip sync is more accurate, speech can use multiple languages, accents and dialects, and on-screen text stays clear while the camera moves or the scene changes. In backlit, night and neon-lit shots, the model keeps more detail in highlights and shadows, with less color banding . Kling also gives this generation a better grasp of camera movement and multi-shot direction, and it expands prompt input to 8,000 tokens. An enhanced Omni Reference system takes up to 10 keyframes and up to 15 multimodal references across images, video and audio to keep characters consistent across shots and episodes . Compared with earlier Kling releases, the 3–30 second duration range and multi-keyframe input are marked as new , and dynamic motion is listed among the headline updates . Here, the model runs in five modes: Text to video, Image to video, Reference to video (built on your images and optional voice clips), Edit video and Extend video.
Kling AI says its platform has served more than 100 million users and over 50,000 enterprise customers across advertising, film, television and gaming . This release aims at that professional end of the market: key shots, character-driven stories and high-contrast footage that still leaves room for a color grade.

Check These Before You Hit Generate
Six quick checks that prevent rushed dialogue, garbled lettering and muddy contrast.
Give Video Duration room for every beat
The duration setting starts at 5 seconds, which is enough for a single action. Kling 4.0 can fit a setup, a turn and a payoff into one take of up to 30 seconds. If your prompt describes several beats, raise Video Duration so each one gets a few seconds, or cut beats to fit the length you chose.
Script each spoken line with its speaker
Put every line of dialogue in quotes, and say who speaks it and in which language or accent. Keep the total short enough to be said naturally in the time you set, so the delivery doesn't have to rush. In Reference to video, Add Voice accepts up to three MP3 or WAV clips, each up to 30 seconds and 25 MB.
Quote the exact words for signs and titles
The model can render legible lettering, but it can only spell what you give it. Put signs, labels and titles in quotes, keep them short, and name the surface they sit on (a shop awning, a mug, a lower third) so the text appears where you want it.
Name your light sources in high-contrast scenes
Backlit, night and neon setups are where Kling 4.0 holds detail in both the brightest and darkest parts of the frame. Name each light source and its color (a magenta neon tube, a sodium streetlamp, low sun behind the subject) so the contrast comes from clear light sources instead of turning murky.
Feed Add Image sharp, evenly lit references
Each reference must be at least 300×300 pixels, and small or blurry crops give the model little to work with. Show the same character or product from several angles, and say in the Prompt what each image shows so the model can tell who is who.
Trim source footage before Edit or Extend
Extend video starts the added seconds from your upload's final frame, so end the clip on a steady, sharp moment rather than in the middle of motion blur. For Edit video, upload only the 3–30 second section you want changed, because the result covers the whole clip you upload.
Kling 4.0 or Seedance 2.5: Match the Generator to the Shot
Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 both make clips of up to 30 seconds, so the real differences are in what each generator lets you set and upload. Each row below compares the controls and inputs the two generators offer on Vidofy, mode by mode.
| Feature/Spec | Kling 4.0 | Seedance 2.5 |
|---|---|---|
| Clip length you can set | 3–30 seconds in 1-second steps, 5 s by default (Text to video, Image to video, Reference to video, Extend video) | 4–30 seconds in 1-second steps, 4 s by default (Text to video, Image to video, First to last frame, Reference to video); 5 s by default in Extend video |

Matching Each Generator to Your Project
Large asset packs or a focused cast
If your brief comes as a big bundle of mood boards, location plates, motion clips and several audio tracks, Seedance 2.5's Reference to video can take far more of it in one run, video clips included. Its longer prompt box also fits a shot-by-shot script with room to spare. Kling 4.0's Reference to video suits a smaller cast: a few character or product images and a couple of voice clips, guided by a prompt of up to 5,000 characters. For one hero with a signature voice, Kling's setup works well. For an ensemble built from existing footage, you need the generator that accepts video clips.
The frame you deliver in
The delivery format often decides before anything else does. Trailers, title cards and cinema-style pitches need a true letterbox frame, which Kling 4.0's 21:9 option gives you in Text to video and Reference to video. Layouts built around 3:4 or 4:3, or a lighter 480P file, point to Seedance 2.5. For vertical, square and standard widescreen work, both offer the same shapes and both go up to 1080P, so let the other rows decide.
Carrying a clip forward
Both generators can continue an uploaded clip of up to 30 seconds. Kling 4.0's Extend video also lets you supply a Last Frame image, so you can show where the added seconds should end up (a product hero pose, a closing title plate) instead of only describing it. The Seedance 2.5 generator here shows no such upload in Extend video, so there the prompt alone decides where the continuation goes.
Which Generator Fits Your Next Shot?
Use this quick guidance to pick the best option for your workflow.
How to choose: Choose Kling 4.0 when the shot needs a 21:9 frame in Text to video or Reference to video, or when an Extend video run should head toward a Last Frame image you supply. Choose Seedance 2.5 when your Reference to video brief needs more than 10 images, more than 3 audio files or any video clips, when a Text to video, Image to video or Reference to video prompt runs past 5,000 characters, or when you want 3:4, 4:3 or 480P output. For 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1 clips of up to 30 seconds at 1080P, the two generators offer the same thing and either one works.
From Prompt to Finished Take
Five steps, from picking a mode to getting your finished clip.
Choose Text, Image, Reference, Edit or Extend video
Start from words alone with Text to video, animate a picture with Image to video, or build a scene from images and voice clips with Reference to video. Use Edit video to rework a clip, or Extend video to continue one.
Add files with Add Image, Add Voice, Image or Video
Reference to video needs at least one image in Add Image and also accepts optional clips in Add Voice. Image to video takes its picture in Image. Edit video and Extend video take your clip in Video, with optional Add Reference Image or Last Frame (optional) images. Text to video skips this step.
Write the Prompt or refine it with Enhance Prompt
Describe the subject, action, camera move and sound in the Prompt box (up to 5,000 characters). Enhance Prompt, under the box, suggests fuller versions of a rough idea, and your text only changes if you pick one.
Set Video Duration, Resolution and Aspect Ratio
Choose 3 to 30 seconds, 720P or 1080P, and a frame shape if the mode offers one. In Edit video, set Resolution and Sound (Keep original or New sound) instead.
Click Generate
Each run gives you one video. Watch it, then adjust the prompt or settings and generate again for a fresh take.
