Seedream 5.0 Lite Image to Image: Restyle and Edit Photos

Last verified: October 19, 2026

Seedream 5.0 Lite image-to-image editing starts with understanding. The model first works out what is in your input image and what your instruction asks for, then uses logic to draw the result, so it does more than paint over pixels. To use it, add the photo you want changed in Add Image, write what should happen to it as a plain sentence in the Prompt box, then set the Aspect Ratio and Resolution Quality for the finished file.

The form leaves you only the decisions that shape what you deliver: which images go in, what the instruction says, the shape of the frame and the resolution tier. The model handles everything else. That is why the steps below spend most of their time on choosing uploads and wording the change.

Tips for Writing Image-to-Image Prompts

Refer to Each Upload by Number

When you have several images in Add Image, every instruction should say which image it applies to. The model's creator writes its own example prompt this way, calling the inputs image 1 and image 2. Adding a few words about what each image shows, such as the jacket in image 2 or the street in image 3, keeps the instruction clear even when two uploads look alike.

Start With a Short Instruction

Seedream 5.0 Lite is documented to work out the intent behind short, vague instructions the way a human designer would, and to turn them into precise edits. That makes a one-line brief in the Prompt box a good first run. See what the model makes of it, then add detail only where the result misses, instead of front-loading every adjective before you know what's needed.

Common Image-to-Image Problems and Fixes

What usually goes wrong with uploads, prompts and framing, and how to fix it.

My image won't upload

Add Image only takes a few common photo formats, caps the size of each file and rejects images below a minimum pixel size; the exact limits are in the upload question in the FAQ. Re-save the file in an accepted format, compress or shrink it if it's over the size cap, or go back to the original if your copy was scaled below the minimum. Then add it again.

My full brief doesn't fit in the prompt box

The Prompt box has a character limit (see the prompt step above), and anything past it won't fit. Rewrite the brief as the change itself plus anything that must stay untouched. Let a reference upload carry looks that would take a paragraph to describe, then run it again.

The result ignored some details I asked for

Very long prompts spread the information out, so the model can overlook details and focus on the major elements, and smaller requests drop out of the result. Cut the brief down to the change and the two or three details you care about most, then generate again. If one detail still goes missing, make it the focus of your next prompt.

My vertical photo came back square or cropped

Aspect Ratio sets the shape of the result and starts on a square frame, so a tall or wide photo gets reframed unless you change it. Pick the option closest to your source, or to where the image will be used, and generate again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What image files can I upload, and how many?

Add Image takes between 1 and 8 images for a run. Each file can be JPG, JPEG, PNG or WEBP, up to 10 MB, and must be at least 300×300 pixels.

Can Seedream 5.0 Lite combine several photos in one edit?

Yes. Seedream 5.0 Lite is documented for both single-image and multi-image input, so you can load several uploads and cover them all in one instruction. Give each extra image a clear job in the prompt, such as the style to borrow, the palette to match or the product to place, so the model knows what to take from it.

How much does a run cost?

Vidofy works out the credit cost from the options you've picked and shows it above the Generate button once you're signed in, so you can check it before every run.

How do I get several variations of the same photo?

Each run returns one image, so you get variations by running again. Keep the uploads the same and change one thing per run, such as the wording of the instruction, the Aspect Ratio or the reference image. That way you can tell which change produced which version.
