Kling 2.6 Pro Text to Video: Clips with Voice and Sound

Last verified: October 19, 2026

Kling 2.6 Pro works best for short scenes where the sound matters as much as the picture: two people trading lines, a narrated product shot, a song, or rain and footsteps that have to hit with the action. From text alone, the model generates the visuals together with natural voiceover, sound effects and ambient atmosphere in a single pass. You don't get a silent clip that still needs dubbing. With Kling 2.6 Pro text-to-video, one written description becomes a scene with its soundtrack already in place.

The main reason to generate both at once is timing. The model aligns visual motion with sound rhythm as it generates, so the pacing of speech, ambient sound and on-screen action stays tightly coordinated. That avoids the disconnect you get when picture and sound are made separately. It pays off most when a sound belongs to a visible action, like a door closing, a step landing or a word being spoken.

The form has only a few controls: one prompt box that carries both picture and sound, a choice of clip length and frame shape, a switch that decides whether audio is generated, and a separate field for things you'd rather not see. Most of the work happens in the prompt. The settings mostly depend on where the clip will be published.

How should you write a prompt for Kling 2.6 Pro?

Build the prompt in the five-part order

Kling's recommended prompt format runs in five parts. Scene describes the setting, Element the subject and Movement the action. Audio covers dialogue, singing, sound effects or pure music, and Other covers style, emotion and camera. Filling the Prompt box in that order keeps the audio from being tacked onto the end of a visual description. It also shows you which part to rewrite when only the sound or only the camera misses.

Spell English lines the way the voice reads them

When a character speaks English, type ordinary words in lowercase and save capitals for acronyms and proper nouns, as Kling's guidance for English speech asks. This matters most when a name has to be heard correctly, like a brand in a narrated spot, a city in a travel line or an abbreviation in a news-style read.

Name every sound and what makes it

The model can generate background ambience such as wind, ocean waves, street noise and traffic. It also generates object and action sounds such as breaking glass, footsteps, a knife slicing or a machine rumbling, and it can combine voice, background and effects. In the Audio part, give each sound a concrete source tied to something visible: write footsteps on wet cobblestones as she runs, not just background noise, so every effect matches an action in the shot. If a scene should carry only one effect, say so plainly, for example no speech and no music, so the request is clear.

How do you make a video with sound from a text prompt?

Four steps from a written scene to a downloaded clip.

One-pass audio or sound added afterwards

When to let Kling 2.6 Pro generate the soundtrack and when to build it separately.

Steps to a finished clip with sound With Generate Audio on, voiceover, sound effects and ambience are generated in the same pass as the picture, so the clip is complete when the run ends. Switching Generate Audio off and adding sound in separate post-production software is the traditional workflow of silent footage first and audio second, which Kuaishou says the model replaces. Choose one-pass audio for drafts and social clips that ship as generated. Choose the silent route when you have to use a voice recording or music track you already have.
Timing between sound and action The model aligns sound rhythm with visual motion as it generates, pacing speech, ambient sound and on-screen action together. Kuaishou links laying sound onto silent footage with a disjointed, mismatched audio-video experience, which leaves the timing to be fixed by hand in the edit. Pick native audio when effects and lines have to match specific actions. Pick separate sound when you plan to re-cut the clip and will re-time every sound in the edit anyway.
Leave Generate Audio on whenever the clip should arrive with its sound in place. Turn it off only when you're building the soundtrack in another tool.

Fixing common Kling 2.6 Pro problems

What usually goes wrong with sound and prompts, and what to change before the next run.

My video came out with no sound at all

First check that the Generate Audio switch wasn't left off from an earlier run, because audio is generated only while it's on. Then make sure the prompt asks for something to hear: a spoken line in quotes, a named sound effect or the ambience of the place. Audio is one of the parts the model's prompt format expects you to describe. Fix both and run it again.

The dialogue or song gets cut off before it finishes

The shorter Video Duration leaves little room for a full exchange or a verse. Kling recommends the longer duration for singing and dialogue scenes because the results are more complete and stable. Switch Video Duration to the longer option and trim the lines to what can be said naturally in that time. Then generate again.

Both characters sound alike, or a line comes from the wrong person

Unlabeled lines leave the model guessing who is speaking. Give every speaker a clear label with the emotion next to it, for example [Character A, angrily] says the first line and [Character B, calmly] replies. Also describe each character in the Element part of the prompt so every label matches someone on screen. Run the labelled script again.

The prompt box won't accept any more text

The Prompt field has a fixed character limit, and a scene with full dialogue and sound notes can hit it quickly. Cut repeated adjectives first and keep one sentence for each part of the scene. Move anything you want excluded into Negative Prompt instead of listing it in the main prompt. You can generate the trimmed version right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Kling 2.6 Pro follow a prompt that tells a short story?

Yes, as long as it fits in one clip. The model understands text descriptions, everyday spoken phrasing and complex storylines across different scenarios, and it turns them into audio and video that hang together logically. Keep the plot to one situation with a clear beginning and end, such as a question and its answer or a setup and a punchline, so it can finish before the clip does.

How long can a Kling 2.6 Pro video be?

The model generates clips up to 10 seconds long, which matches the longer of the two Video Duration options. For a longer piece, plan it as a sequence of scenes. Generate each one as its own clip using the same character and location descriptions, then join them in an editor.

What makes one generation cost more than another?

The credit cost of a run is calculated from the options you choose and shown above the Generate button once you're signed in. Two settings change it: Video Duration and Generate Audio, so check the figure again whenever you change either one. Enhance Prompt doesn't use credits.

Why do characters speak English when I wrote the dialogue in another language?

The model speaks only Chinese and English. Lines written in any other language are automatically translated into English for the voice, and the rest of the video is generated as usual. If the speech has to be in a particular language, write the dialogue in English or Chinese.
