FLUX 3 Text to Image for Posters, Prints and Typography

Last verified: October 29, 2026

FLUX 3 is best suited to posters, greeting cards and print pieces in text-to-image work, meaning images where the wording, where it sits and the real-world details all have to come out right. You put the exact words in quotation marks in the prompt and say where they go. By default the model searches the web to get real things right, and it generates natively at 4K. The Aspect Ratio menu includes 7:5 and 5:7, the proportions of a 5×7 inch print, so you can compose a card or framed print in its final shape instead of cropping it later.

In this mode the prompt carries everything you control: subject, placement, light, palette, style and any text. The building blocks Black Forest Labs lays out for a prompt are image type, subject, location, style, camera settings, lighting and colors. Its style examples run from editorial photography to anime illustration, and its own quickstart prompt is a two-color risograph illustration.

Vidofy's form follows the same prompt-first approach. You write in the Prompt box, and Enhance Prompt can draft a fuller version from a rough idea. Aspect Ratio sets the shape of the frame, Resolution Quality sets its size, and the Web Search switch decides whether the model looks up references before it draws. Everything else is in your wording.

Prompting Techniques for Better FLUX 3 Results

Order the Prompt from Medium to Background

The FLUX 3 launch captions follow a steady order: medium and style first, then the subjects and where they sit, then light, color and background. Use full sentences for relationships, such as who holds what, what stands behind what and where the light comes from, and short phrases for style, color and lighting. A prompt built this way reads: "Gouache illustration. A red fox sits on the left end of a stone bridge, a lantern hanging above it. Low amber light from the right, muted greens, misty pines behind."

Write the Prompt for the Frame You Chose

The ratio and the prompt should agree. When you pick a wide or tall option in Aspect Ratio, say that framing in the prompt and give the model something to fill it. An ultra-wide frame wants a subject that runs across the width, like a coastline, a train on a viaduct or a row of market stalls. A tall frame suits a tower, a waterfall or a standing figure.

Describe What Belongs in the Image, Not What to Leave Out

FLUX 3 takes no negative prompt, and the documented approach is to swap negative prompts for positive descriptions. Instead of listing exclusions, describe the clean version you want: "a clear, pale-blue sky" rather than "no birds, no clouds", and "a bare oak table" rather than "no clutter". When a result is close, change one detail (subject, framing, lighting or style) and run it again instead of rewriting everything, so you can see which change made the difference.

How to Create an Image with FLUX 3

Four steps from a written prompt to a downloaded image.

1

Describe the image in the "Prompt" box

Type your scene into the "Prompt" box, which takes up to 5,000 characters. That is enough for a full scene description with quoted text. Describe what appears in the image, how it looks and the mood or style you want. If you only have a rough idea, click "Enhance Prompt" under the box. It suggests fuller prompts, and your text only changes when you pick one, so you can compare the suggestions first.

2

Set "Aspect Ratio" and "Resolution Quality"

Open "Aspect Ratio" and choose from Auto, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9, 9:21, 5:4, 4:5, 7:5, 5:7, 2:1 or 1:2. It starts at 1:1. Black Forest Labs describes the model's auto setting without reference images in two ways. Its technical guide says the result is square. Its API reference says a ratio requested in the prompt wins first, with square as the fallback. Since both end at square, pick the frame yourself whenever it matters. Then set "Resolution Quality" to 1K, 2K or 4K (it starts at 1K). Each tier is an equal pixel area, so changing the ratio changes the shape but not the size class. Work out the wording at 1K and move up for the version you keep.

3

Click "Generate"

Before you click "Generate", check the "Web Search" switch. It is on by default and searches the web for references before generating. Once the prompt, frame and size are set, click "Generate" to start the run.

4

Download the result

Look the image over at full size before you download it. Read every quoted word and check any real place or product against the real thing, since these details most often need a second pass. Download it when it's right. If it isn't, revise the prompt and generate again.

Choosing Between FLUX 3 Stills, Video and Self-Hosting

Where this generator fits next to the other FLUX 3 options a reader might pick instead.

Still image or moving footage Every run returns a finished still, shaped by your Aspect Ratio choice and sized by Resolution Quality, ready for a poster, card or print. The same model in Text To Video generates a video clip from a written prompt instead of a single frame. Stay with text-to-image when the deliverable is a still such as a poster or print, and switch to Text To Video when the brief calls for footage.
Running the model yourself Generation runs through Vidofy's web form, so the whole job is a prompt, a few settings and a download. FLUX 3 Image Klein is the open-weights member of the FLUX 3 Image family, which Black Forest Labs describes as a model you can run on your own hardware. Use the web form when you want to go straight from a prompt to a finished image, and look at Klein when your team needs to host the weights itself.
FLUX 3 here is the direct route from a written brief to a finished still. Move to Text To Video when you need moving footage, and to FLUX 3 Image Klein when the weights have to run on your own machines.

Common FLUX 3 Problems and How to Fix Them

What usually goes wrong with prompt-only generations, and what to change before the next run.

I described a wide panorama but the image came out square.

Aspect Ratio starts on square, so a wide scene written into the prompt can still come out square. For any text-to-image request that isn't square, set the ratio yourself. Choose the wide or tall option you want in Aspect Ratio, keep the framing words in your prompt, and run it again.

The words on my poster are misspelled, or they show up in the wrong spot.

Quotation marks are what separate the words to print from the description around them. Put each exact phrase in quotation marks and give it its own position, such as across the top, on the shop sign or under the illustration. Describe the type by weight, case, color and alignment. Then generate again and check the result letter by letter.

A real landmark or product came out looking made up.

If Web Search was switched off, the model had only your words to work from. Switch it back on so FLUX 3 can search the web and image sources before generating. Name the subject the way it is officially known (full name, city, model or edition) and run the prompt again.

My prompt is too long to fit in the box.

The Prompt box has a character limit, and a pasted creative brief full of notes, references and alternatives can run past it. Keep what the image needs, meaning the subjects and where they sit, the light, the palette and any quoted text, and move production notes elsewhere. Then paste the trimmed version and generate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many images does FLUX 3 make per run?

One. Each click of Generate returns a single image. To compare directions, run the prompt again or try a variant and keep the versions side by side.

Do I need a long, detailed prompt for FLUX 3?

No. A short prompt works, because FLUX 3 expands it into a detailed description before it generates. Write more only for the details you want to control, such as positions, light or text. If you want to see a fuller draft before you run, Enhance Prompt offers expanded versions of your idea to pick from.

What makes one FLUX 3 generation cost more than another?

The cost changes with Resolution Quality. Once you're signed in, the credit cost for the options you've picked is calculated and shown above the Generate button, so you see it before you run. Enhance Prompt does not use credits.

What aspect ratio should I pick for a 5×7 card or print?

Pick 5:7 for a portrait card or print and 7:5 for a landscape one. Both match a 5×7 inch sheet exactly, so the image needs no cropping to fit, and a headline or border detail near the edge stays where you put it.

Can FLUX 3 render Japanese or other non-Latin text?

Yes. Text in another script works the same way as English: quote the exact characters, then say where they go and how they look. The documented Tokyo poster example writes its prompt in English and quotes the Japanese "東京" directly, so you don't need to translate the rest of your description.

Should I turn off Web Search for made-up characters or scenes?

That's a reasonable choice. Black Forest Labs calls this web and image search "grounding". With it turned off, the model returns faster results that use only your prompt. An invented creature, a fictional town or an abstract pattern gives the search nothing real to find, so the faster run from your prompt alone makes sense.

Can I reuse a seed to get the same FLUX 3 image again?

FLUX 3 Image has no seed or guidance field. The prompt carries everything you control. When you get a version you like, download it before you generate again, and save the prompt so you can build close variations from it.
